Spring Program

Spring 2025 Announcement

The Shamrock organization has decided not to operate formal spring tournament teams this spring.

Unfortunately, 10U-14U Girls Spring "AAA" hockey has turned into mostly a combination of "super teams and checkbook teams." As a result, tournaments are often unbalanced (either you're winning by a lot, or getting crushed) and the entire operation gets quite expensive for families.

As a true non-profit the Shamrocks have always focused on doing what was right for our athletes' development over doing what would turn a profit or be cost-prohibitive.

We believe that after a long fall/winter travel hockey season springtime is a great time to work on skills with G4H or play another sport. We believe -- and long-term athlete development (LTAD) science shows -- that time spent traveling and at hotels would be better spent at a local skills clinic, playing in the G4H 'Rocks 3v3 league, or taking a break from hockey to play lacrosse, baseball/softball, or run outdoor track.

The Shamrocks have a long history of operating spring hockey programs for girls for 10U teams and older. It is designed to be an exciting and unique experience that allows girls from around Vermont and neighboring states to come together to make new friends and play high-level hockey. Skill development is stressed, but team building and teamwork are even more important.

The Shamrocks encourage girls to participate in spring sports and our schedule is designed accordingly to make every effort to minimize conflicts. Spring Team seasons start around late March and end by early June.
